Pakistan aspire to switch over to 30 percent electric vehicles by 2030 under the National Electric Vehicles Policy, and for the realisation of her plan the federal cabinet has approved huge tax exemptions on four-wheeler electric vehicles.

The Main Highlights of Pakistan’s EV policy are;

  • Removal of Federal excise duty (FED) on EVs
  • Additional customs duty and additional sales tax slashed on imports of electronic vehicles
  • Only 1% tax on imports car parts for manufacturers
  • Import of EV charging equipment capped at 1%

    • Duty free import plant and machinery for manufacturing of EVs.

    The country is putting her all out efforts to confront the environment sensitive geographical landscape, and for this purpose environment friendly policies are just inescapable.
