“We think we’ll have a vaccine by the end of this year and we’re pushing very hard,” said Donald Trump. All vaccines of COVID-19 are currently in developmental stages. Some are in the early phases of clinical trials. But President Donald Trump claimed on Sunday that a coronavirus vaccine would be ready by the end of 2020.
Trump said that several pharmaceutical companies are close to developing the vaccine, naming Johnson & Johnson in particular. While Johnson & Johnson company has not yet begun human trials. The company, however, proclaims that the soonest its first batch will be available is in 2021.
Developing a vaccine often takes several years, and for some infectious diseases such as HIV and Ebola, they remain elusive.
